<desc>Filmed during the autumn of 2020, this series of 24 Hours in A&amp;E follows patients treated in the same 24-hour period at St George's in south west London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&amp;E departments in Britain - a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day. Fifty-six-year-old Wendy is rushed to St George's with an open ankle fracture after falling in her garden. Wendy recalls the isolation she felt after losing both her parents at a very young age, and how meeting her husband Nigel was her salvation. Ioannis has come to A&amp;E with a pain in his elbow after the 84-year-old collapsed at home following a bout of dizziness. His children Harry and Helena recount their father's bravery in moving from his native Cyprus to the UK over 50 years ago to raise his family. They tell of his positive influence as a loving father and the difficulties of watching his health decline in recent years. Fred is brought to Resus after experiencing chest pain at home. He tells us of his memories of growing up in south London, his youthful love of travel, and a lifelong career on the railway - all of which were thwarted by him requiring a leg amputation. Exec Prods: Lucie Duxbury, Spencer Kelly; Series Prods/Dirs: Helen Crampton, Joe John; Prod Co: The Garden

This episode explores the challenges that some people face in childhood and how these experiences help shape the people they become. And a doctor shares his story of leaving his family and newborn child during lockdown, to keep them safe. Eleven-year-old Ashanti is rushed to St George's after she was struck by a car. Doctors are concerned about serious injuries to her chest and potential internal bleeding. Ashanti's mum Natalie reveals the health problems Ashanti has already had to overcome. Reiss has come to the injuries department after hurting his Achilles tendon during a game of football. The 26-year-old talks about how playing football was an escape for him during his childhood in south London and how the lessons he learned from the game helped him to develop. Sixty-year-old Julie is treated by Dr James after she tripped over her cat and fell down the stairs. Dr James reflects on the birth of his first child and the difficult decision to live away from home during the pandemic. That afternoon, as the B&amp;Bers tour an Ice Age cave, John's expertise leaves the group in meltdown, while Sarah and Jay's reaction to their feedback puts them between a rock and a hard place. This episode looks at how, when we are in need, support can come from a range of different people in our lives. Mick was home alone when he fell and broke two bones in his ankle. His late wife's friend Carol rushed to his aid. Doctors are not only concerned about the damage to Mick's ankle but also the reason why the 74-year-old fell in the first place. Carol speaks about the loss of Mick's wife and how her memory is something they both treasure. Thirty-two-year-old Naomi collides in a game of mixed rugby, sustaining a blow to her neck. While doctors scan for spinal damage, Naomi describes her issues with mental health. <desc>Filmed during the autumn of 2020, the award-winning documentary series follows patients treated in the same 24-hour period at St George's in south west London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&amp;E departments in Britain - a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day. Dr Richard, the on-call stroke doctor, is having a busy shift in the resus department, and shares an emotional account of his work on the front line during the first wave of the Covid pandemic. John, who's 72, is rushed to St George's with a suspected stroke after his wife Jean found him slumped in the bathroom. While Dr Richard and the stroke team work quickly to find the right treatment for John, Jean waits anxiously at home. Jean shares tales of how their lives used to be until one day 10 years ago, when everything changed. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Daniel has come off his motorbike and been brought into resus, as his mum Diana hurries to the hospital to be by his side. While doctors examine Daniel's injuries, Diana shares a heartbreaking story of leaving her children in Colombia in search of a better life for them abroad. And, on shift in the minor injuries department, emergency practitioner Rachel treats 21-year-old builder William, who has sustained an ankle injury while playing basketball. <title lang="en">999: On the Front Line</title>
<desc>Filmed during autumn and winter months as pressure on the NHS ramps up, we follow the West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics on a typical 12-hour shift, and see what life is really like on the front line through the eyes on the people at the sharp end. Paramedics are called out to a young woman who's had a panic attack while driving to work and pulls over in the middle of rush-hour traffic. It's a frightening experience that may have been triggered by an equally frightening assault. A husband finds his wife confused and collapsed on the bathroom floor and calls 999. An elderly woman who feared her son's van was being broken into rushes outside and slips on the driveway. Her neighbours come to her aid and call for help. When an 11-year-old boy's mum collapses and is unresponsive, the child has the presence of mind to call 999. And a man in a community centre who speaks very little English is having chest pains. He's on medication for a previous heart attack but has not renewed his prescription. Exec Prod: Claire Simpson; Series Ed: Graeme Thomson; Prod Co: Curve Media
