<desc>A heart-warming and emotional episode focusing on children and one of A&E's youngest and newest recruits, 27-year-old emergency medicine trainee Matt. Sixteen-year-old riding enthusiast Ellie has been airlifted to King's from Kent after she was thrown from her horse and crushed against a fence. Ellie arrives with no feeling down her left side and the team fears she may have serious spinal injuries. Ellie's mum, Kate, can only wait and reflect as scans begin. Jill arrives with intense pain after a sudden and severe haemorrhage. She's pregnant and is scared she might be losing her baby, having had a number of miscarriages in the past. In paediatric A&E, four-year-old Destiny has a fishbone stuck in his tonsils from his lunchtime curry. And, after a long and intense shift, the deaths of two older patients make Dr Matt reflect on family, mortality and coping with loss. <desc>The RTS award-winning series 24 Hours in A&E brings a warm-hearted and moving episode exploring the different ways that men deal with pain and injury. Fifty-year-old builder Jim arrives in A&E screaming in agony after a fall at work. He's managed to dislocate his shoulder in such an unusual way that consultant Chris hasn't seen the like in 30 years of emergency medicine, and it takes a five-strong team to pull Jim's shoulder back into place. Thirty-year-old Temi is in minors with a broken toe, having mistaken a concrete block for a football. He growls and grimaces in pain, but Temi's actually more concerned about whether the crutches he's given will match his sense of style. Also in minors are married couple Pat and Alan. Both in their sixties, they've spent just one day apart in 49 years and are stoical in the face of adversity. Alan had to have one of his legs amputated in 2009 and now, having just returned from holiday in Goa, the other leg is dangerously swollen. Later in the day, two elderly patients are brought to King's. Eighty-three-year-old James has a cyst on his knee, but is in so much pain that he's refusing treatment. It's senior sister AnnMarie's job to persuade James to stay in overnight. Series Prod: Kirsty Cunningham; Exec Prods: Tom McDonald, Nick Curwin; Prod Co: The Garden Productions

<desc>Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer help more house-hunters pitted against an ever-changing market. In this episode, Kirstie and Phil are in Manchester with two sets of first-time buyers, both engaged and keen to find their first homes before those wedding bells ring. It's a race against time in a market where no quarter is given, and even our dynamic duo find the pace of property purchasing problematic. Kirstie's with graduates Robyn and Alice, two very smart young women who are fighting a losing battle trying to find a starter flat or, even better, a classic 'Corrie' redbrick home. It's a search of twists and turns, with unscheduled trips to neighbours' houses, gasps of delight at the deals on offer and surprises hidden in the very walls. Kirstie leads them to the traditional terrace they think they want, but whether that romantic notion wins out over a larger flat, only Robyn and Alice can decide - with a little help from Kirstie's 'vision goggles'. Phil's stomping the same popular patches of Didsbury and Chorlton with Steph and Christopher, who have been outbid 10 times, with some properties they'd offered on going for £50,000 over the asking price. Finding the properties isn't as much of an issue, but trying to close a deal before 'best and finals' is proving very tough indeed. Phil has to rely on his decades of experience in order to put Steph and Christopher in a position where they can compete in a market that's running away. <desc>Product designer Rebecca Sturrock has returned to her family home in Cornwall with her partner Gregory Kewish and a highly ambitious plan. Together, they want to transform a small, damp, single-storey bungalow into a cutting-edge home to share with their three-year-old twin daughters - all for just £80,000. The design is radical, to reinforce the walls of the old bungalow and put an entirely new living space on top to take advantage of the views. The extra floor will be built entirely of super-thick wooden panels engineered in Germany. The two-tonne panels are normally assembled by a crew of specialist installers, but remarkably, due to their minuscule budget, Rebecca and Gregory are determined to do it all themselves. <desc>RTS award-winning documentary series. Nineteen-year-old fitness fanatic Josh is flown to King's College Hospital in south London by air ambulance, having been crushed between a barge and a bridge while working on a canal. A&E consultant Firas and his team set to work on the teenager. Once he's out of immediate danger, their attention turns to a potentially life-changing injury - a possible penile fracture. In minors, two best friends are recovering from a Sunday night out clubbing and, for one, as they await treatment for an injured finger, thoughts turn to their upcoming gender reassignment, which will require hormones and - eventually - surgery. Meanwhile, in resus, 80-year-old Jean has been brought to King's by ambulance after collapsing at home. Jean has terminal cancer; she's exhausted and anaemic. Jean's husband, John, is her greatest support. Jean and John have been together for over 60 years; it's their tender, supportive relationship that helps them to cope. 'He deserves a medal,' says Jean. Series Prod: Kirsty Cunningham; Exec Prods: Tom McDonald, Nick Curwin; Prod Co: The Garden Productions

<desc>This episode of the RTS award-winning documentary series was filmed on the night when singing superstar Whitney Houston died. As staff and patients come to terms with Whitney's untimely death, King's is filling up with young people who were having fun with their friends when disaster struck. Twenty-one-year-old Danielle is on her first trip to London from Northern Ireland for a girls' weekend with her best friend Leanne. She'd collapsed after an exercise class shortly before leaving, but was determined not to miss the weekend and caught her flight. Now she's hundreds of miles from home and seriously ill. Leanne, a newly qualified nurse, quickly realises the gravity of the situation, and registrar Swetha is concerned that Danielle's kidneys may be failing and that she may even be at risk of cardiac arrest. As Danielle's health deteriorates, a new patient arrives in resus in a critical condition. He fell 20 feet from a friend's balcony, hitting his head as he landed, and has been rushed to King's by the Helicopter Emergency Medics (HEMS). Consultant Jeff is concerned that, as well as broken bones, he may have a brain injury. Meanwhile, in minors, trainee doctor Josh is treating 34-year-old Latoya, who was out partying with friends and dancing to Whitney Houston hits when the straps on her platform heels gave way and she fell over. Latoya blames her shoes and the late singer for the deep gash on her forehead. Series Prod: Kirsty Cunningham; Exec Prods: Tom McDonald, Nick Curwin; Prod Co: The Garden Productions
