<desc>The award-winning documentary series that follows patients treated in the same 24-hour period at St George's in south west London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain. Katie is rushed to St George's by helicopter after a riding accident. The 46-year-old's horse has fallen on top of her, resulting in multiple broken bones and internal injuries. Katie's American husband explains how meeting her changed him forever. Amy has a deep laceration to her ankle after a lockdown party with her flatmates ended with her falling onto a gin glass. The 22-year-old shares the story of how her ballerina dreams were thwarted by injury, and how her subsequent desire to move into medicine was brought to an end when her mum was diagnosed with cancer. Pamela has a sudden bout of back pain that has left her in agony. Her husband Peter tells us about their 64 years of marriage, from meeting as students in Oxford, to the ill health that Pamela has had to endure in retirement. In 2016, Jay and Charlene had run out of room in Romford, and with a toddler in tow were desperate to buy their first grown-up family home in Chelmsford. With lots of future housing developments planned, the area was up and coming and surrounded by lush countryside. Kirstie found them some great options, and it became a two-house race, but it was the property with most potential which really tugged at their heartstrings. Seven years later, Phil is back to see a totally transformed house with a stunning six-metre kitchen extension, which involved knocking out an internal wall for a more open plan feel. And in 2021, fitness fanatics Miriam and David had moved in with David's parents while they looked for their next home. But weeks had turned to months as they got tired of missing out on homes in the fast market on Glasgow's southside. Phil showed them a variety of properties, all of which ticked different boxes, but moving the search further out showed Miriam and David how much more their money could buy. A character property won out, but, in the end, fate had other ideas... Two years later, we're back to find Miriam and David in a very different place!
