    <title lang="en">Plan B</title>
<desc>Director Natalie Morales' buddy comedy stars Kuhoo Verma and Victoria Moroles as two high school friends who go on a quest for the morning-after pill following an awkward sexual encounter at a party. Sunny (Verma) is a bright, academic Indian-American 17-year-old whose mother (Jolly Abraham) has high expectations of her. Lupe (Moroles) couldn't be less like Sunny with her casual attitude to education - and life - and her rebellious clothing choices designed to wind her pastor father (Jacob Vargas) up to the max. But they're both outsiders in the brutal world of the American high school. Even so, they're horny enough to throw a party for their whole class, just to get close to the boys they fancy. Sunny has the hots for jock-hunk Hunter (Michael Provost). But when her plan to seduce him doesn't come off, she ends up with Bible-and-magic-enthusiast Kyle (Mason Cook). They use protection, but let's just say it doesn't stick. No problem, a simple trip to the local pharmacy for a Plan B pill will settle the anxiety. But the pharmacist invokes the 'conscience clause' to deny Sunny the pill. What, ruin her future so he can sleep at night? Whatevs. There's only one thing for it: ROAD TRIP... to a planned parenthood centre in Sunny's mum's Honda. Not glamourous, but it's gotta be done. Written by Joshua Levy and Prathiksha Srinivasan.

    <title lang="en">Secret Headquarters</title>
<desc>Family comedy with Michael Peña and Owen Wilson. When 14-year-old Charlie's (Walker Scobell) rubbish dad Jack (Wilson) blows him out again, he invites his friends over to hang. Mooching round his father's cabin, they find a secret elevator. Of course, they can't resist getting in. And when the doors open, they're standing in a superhero's lair. Jack isn't just a rubbish dad, he's also The Guard, a bit like Iron Man but with a 12 certificate. But where there's a superhero there must also be a villain. Sure enough, Ansel Argon (Peña) is on their case, looking for the source of The Guard's power, known as... wait for it... The Source. Can Charlie put aside his disappointment in Jack enough to ensure The Source's safety? Also featuring Reece Witherspoon's niece Abbie James Witherspoon.

Jeff Chandler co-stars as the Roman general Marcian, charged with halting his assault by Princess Pulcheria (Ludmilla Tcherina, a French ballet dancer whose voice was dubbed by an anonymous American actress). But as the heathens advance to the very gates of the Imperial City, it is not the force of arms that turns them back but a much higher power in Douglas Sirk's sweeping, colourful historical adventure.

    <title lang="en">Fisherman's Friends: One and All</title>
<desc>Meg Leonard and Nick Moorcroft - who wrote 2019's Fisherman's Friends - return as writers and directors for the sea-shanty-singing comedy sequel. The Fisherman's Friends are on tour, but they're one man down. Jim's (James Purefoy) dad has shuffled off to Davy Jones's locker and it's hit Jim hard. He finds little joy in the band's success and turns to drink to keep himself going. Plus, the record company are leaning on him to replace his old man because they feel the band lacks a tenor - apparently A&amp;R men of major record labels care about this sort of thing. When it turns out that Keane, Mumford &amp; Sons and Florence &amp; the Machine aren't ready to deliver a new album, it falls to the Fisherman's Friends to fill the void, both musically and personnel wise. But label boss Jez (Ramon Tikaram) is just about OK with them singing tunes from the 1790s; he just doesn't want them acting like they're from the 1790s. Cue the talent search and sub-plots about inappropriate behaviour - Leadville (Dave Johns) asks a female journalist if she likes meat in her pasty and goes for a wee during a conference call - and misunderstandings with groupies. Oh, and there's plenty of singing, both live and as part of the soundtrack.

    <title lang="en">Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation</title>
<desc>The fifth instalment in the action-thriller franchise starring Tom Cruise. The film opens with undercover agents Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) and Ethan Hunt (Cruise) in Minsk in Belarus, attempting to prevent a nerve gas shipment from being flown to Syria. This involves Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) illegally hacking a Russian satellite, which is problematic, as the Impossible Missions Force is already under investigation for misconduct. Hunt retrieves the nerve gas in spectacular fashion, as the IMF foil a plot by the Syndicate, an organisation committed to fomenting worldwide revolution via acts of terrorism. Then, unfortunately, it turns out that the Syndicate has infiltrated the IMF, which is subsequently disbanded by the US government. Hunt and the team are still set on stopping the Syndicate, but to do so they must now avoid the CIA, which views them as rogue operatives. Also starring Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris. Directed and written by Christopher McQuarrie.

    <title lang="en">The Rhythm Section</title>
<desc>Blake Lively and Jude Law star in Reed Morano's (The Handmaid's Tale) mystery drama from the producers of 007, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and based on the books by Mark Burnell. Stephanie Patrick (Lively) is a young woman who lost her family in horrific circumstances. But she isn't exactly sure why or how. When journalist Keith Proctor (Raza Jaffrey) fills her in on this, she vows to track down those responsible and kill them. But she's never tracked down and killed anyone before. Where on earth do you get the skillset to track down and kill someone? Enter grizzled MI6 operative Iain Boyd (Law), who knows how to track someone down and kill them. His training sessions generally involve getting Stephanie to hit and shoot him, which she does with gusto. And soon she's ready to do the business. Wondering what this has to do with the eponymous rhythm section? Well, when he's teaching Stephanie to shoot a gun, Boyd tells her - in a low, gruff, man-voice - 'you've gotta get your rhythm section under control' and (as if it needed clarifying) 'with your heart as the drums'. So wonder no more and be sure that this film is not about an orchestra.
