Director Phyllis Nagy's timely activism drama stars Elizabeth Banks and Sigourney Weaver. It tells the true story of the Jane Collective - an underground abortion network which helped women in pre-Roe-v-Wade America - through the prism of a fictional woman whose pregnancy threatens her life. It's August 1968, and Joy (Banks) is about as unlikely a candidate for illegal abortion as you can get. She has a rich lawyer husband (Chris Messina). She has a large suburban house.
