    <title lang="en">Stage Mother</title>
<desc>Feelgood comedy-drama from director Thom Fitzgerald. Two worlds collide when small-town conservative choir director Maybelline (Jacki Weaver) gets a call informing her that her estranged son has passed away. Her son, Rickey (Eldon Thiele), owned Pandora's Box, a drag club in San Francisco. Maybelline is immediately confronted by her late son's lifestyle when she travels to his funeral, where she meets Rickey's partner, Nathan (Adrian Grenier), and best friend, Sienna (Lucy Liu), a single mother. And if that wasn't enough of a culture shock, Maybelline soon discovers that Pandora's Box has been left to her. Against the advice of her husband, she decides not to sell the club, but instead keep it open in memory of her son. Along with inheriting the drag club, Maybelline slowly begins to take Rickey's friends and colleagues under her wing. And her choir skills even come in handy to train a trio of traditional lip-syncers. On her path to discovering more about her son, Maybelline does plenty of self-discovery, and soon learns that her son's chosen family may know more about love than her own.

<desc>As Arnie once said, 'if it bleeds, we can kill it.' And now the fact that Comanche hunter Taabe is saying these very words to his sister Naru can only mean one thing: it's Predator prequel time - 1719 style. The Predator's nemesis is in fact Naru, played with suitable ferocity by Amber Midthunder. Naru is a hunter, and a damn good one. But her tribe is a patriarchy, so she's constantly underestimated or openly mocked. Taabe (Dakota Beavers) barely acknowledges her as they hunt for a lion that has been threatening their territory. But it's Naru who notices a skinned snake that seems to have been killed by something unknown. It's Naru who reasons that this mysterious something has scared the lion off. She also connects it to the streak of fire that she saw in the sky. Could it be the monster told of in childhood stories? Taabe thinks Naru's daft. But pretty soon Naru and her retractable hatchet-on-elastic that she's invented - which means she's never unarmed - will be all that stands between the tribe and the ultimate hunter (played by Dane DiLiegro). Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane).

<desc>Comedy B-movie vampire shenanigans with Nicholas Hoult, Awkwafina and an anything-but-bloodless supporting performance from Nicolas Cage. Directed by Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) and written by Ryan Ridley and Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead). Emo-fop Robert Montague Renfield (Hoult) is in a destructive relationship with a toxic narcissist... Dracula (Cage), and he's joined a support group to help with that. As Drac's familiar, he's bound by blood to procure food for his master. So he decides to kill two birds with one stone and take out his fellow victims' abusive partners. Unfortunately, the very first time he tries this he gets, ahem, sucked into some gangland underworld shizzle fronted by clueless nepo-crim Tedward Lobo (Ben Schwartz) and cartel boss-mum Bellafrancesca (Shohreh Aghdashloo). And those two are under unofficial investigation by the only honest cop in the city, Rebecca (Awkwafina). This all leads Renfield to believe that he can distance himself from Dracula and live like an ordinary person. He's even sporting a cosy pastel jumper that fits with this life. But then Drac gets wind of what he's up to and decides to turn up at the support group so that he can share, as it were...
