    <title lang="en">The Mustang</title>
<desc>Writer and director Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre's heartfelt drama stars Matthias Schoenaerts as a violent convict who gets a chance at rehabilitation through a programme training wild mustangs. Roman (Schoenaerts) has been in prison for 12 years. At the start of the movie, he is released from solitary confinement. By his own admittance, he is not good with people. So, he's a bit miffed when the prison therapist (Connie Britton) places him in a rehab programme that aims to train some of the thousands of wild mustangs that roam the States. Perhaps he imagines having to join in with a load of campfire bonhomie, like in City Slickers or Blazing Saddles. But really it makes perfect sense to match up a powerful, wild animal and a horse. Kidding. The question is: who will be tamed? Will the man master his rage as he attempts to break the mustang? And will he be able to form a relationship with his estranged, pregnant teenage daughter Martha (Gideon Adlon) as a result? A wild ride with a civilised ending... perhaps. Also starring Jason Mitchell and Bruce Dern. Executive produced by Robert Redford.

    <title lang="en">3:10 to Yuma</title>
<desc>Glen Ford and Van Heflin star in Delmer Daves' acclaimed western, adapted from a story by Elmore Leonard. Rancher Dan Evans (Heflin) witnesses a cold-blooded murder during a stagecoach robbery. The gang flee the scene, but their leader Ben Wade (Ford) is captured while flirting with a woman (Felicia Farr) in a nearby bar. However, Wade's deputy (Richard Jaeckel) escapes. It's obvious he will gather the rest of the violent gang to reclaim Wade, so, to avoid bloodshed in the town, the marshal decrees that the murderer should be taken to the nearest train station and placed upon the 3.10 to Yuma, where he can be thrown in jail. The stagecoach owner offers a $200 reward for the task, but only the impoverished Evans and the town drunk (Henry Jones) are desperate or anaesthetised enough to take on the dangerous job.

<desc>Glenn Ford, Ernest Borgnine, Rod Steiger and Valerie French star in Delmer Daves' western, which is based on Paul Wellman's 1939 novel Jubal Troop and transposes Shakespeare's Othello to the Wild West. Drifting cowboy Jubal Troop (Ford) finds work on amiable rancher Shep Horgan's (Borgnine) estate. Troop quickly impresses his new boss and is offered a permanent job in a senior role. This, along with other reasons, stokes the animosity of Troop's colleague Pinky (Rod Steiger). And when Horgan's young wife Mae (French) starts showing obvious (but unreciprocated) sexual interest in the newcomer, Pinky sees his chance to engineer a lethal end to Troop's influence at the ranch. Also starring Charles Bronson as a fellow drifter and Troop's much-needed ally.

    <title lang="en">Memory</title>
<desc>Liam Neeson is Alex Lewis - a bad man. He's been a bad man for a long time. And because it's Liam Neeson being a bad man, two things are for sure: 1) There's gonna be worse men - and perhaps women - than him; 2) This is an action thriller that will involve guns and fighting. Lewis is a septuagenarian hitman. He must be good at it to have lived so long. But one drawback of his age is the increased risk of dementia. And Lewis is starting to forget things, just as his brother did at the end. He tries to jog his memory by writing it on his arm, like Guy Pearce did in Memento; remember that? Anyway, Lewis agrees to one last job. But one of his intended victims is 12-year-old Beatriz (Maria Sanchez). Well, he won't kill a kid - he's not that bad. So he leaves her alive and keeps the evidence he was meant to get from her as insurance. This upsets his employer, Davana Sealman (Monica Bellucci), no end. So she sends other hitmen to hit her original hitman. Meanwhile, FBI agent Vincent Serra (played by - hang on... I've written it down somewhere - oh yes: Guy Pearce) is leading a task force to try and make sense of the whole sorry mess. But who on earth are we rooting for here? Directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). Based on Jef Geeraerts' novel, The Alzheimer Case, which has previously appeared on film as 2003 Belgian crime thriller The Memory of a Killer.

    <title lang="en">American Woman</title>
<desc>Sienna Miller, Christina Hendricks and Aaron Paul star in Jake Scott's emotional drama about a woman who must try to make life as normal as possible for her grandson after her daughter goes missing. Debra (Miller) is an early middle-aged woman who had her daughter, Bridget (Sky Ferreira), when she was young. Bridget grew up and did the same and so Debra is a young grandmother. Now, Debra, Bridget and Bridget's infant son Jesse all live together. As the film opens, Debra is getting ready to go out on a date. She calls and calls for Bridget because she wants her daughter's opinion on her outfit. But judging by the sound of a crying baby, Bridget is putting Jesse to bed. Perhaps we could expect Bridget to be annoyed by her mum seemingly prioritising how some boots look with a dress above her teething baby. But no - they get on well and make things work. Then, one morning, Debra is awoken by Jesse crying. She calls out to Bridget, but Bridget isn't there. Soon it becomes clear she must start to face a very different life - one in which she must bring up her grandson. Christina Hendricks features as Katherine, her understanding friend and neighbour with a contrastingly standard family unit. Aaron Paul plays Chris, the man who may just bring Debra some happiness. But the shadow of Bridget is ever present. Is she alive? If so, will she ever return? And, in the meantime, how can Debra give Jesse a normal life amid so much uncertainty?
